Spend a day in a kayak at sea, and explore Southern Martinique while admiring the flora and fauna!
After meeting the guide at the Michel Cove beach, they will distribute life vests and explain how to paddle. Head out to discover the southern most edge of Martinique. Paddle in the direction of Chevalier Island to see the coral reef, neighboring islands, and of course the flora and fauna of the area. Take a swim near the sand shoals before tasting Ti-punch and Caribbean fritters (accras).
In the afternoon, visit Hardy Island, which is an ornithological reserve, and learn about the many different species of birds that live on this stretch of land. Then, continue on your way to see the mangrove swamps.
At Baie des Anglais, the guide will tell you about the history of the area, which is filled with reminders of the colonial era: sugar mills, lime kilns, melon plantations, etc. A second stop for swimming will take place, and a creole lunch will be served on the Baie des Anglais beach. It will be accompanied by seasonal fruits, digestives, and a variety of drinks. Following this there a break in the tour to rest. Paddle boards, bocce balls, and other games are available. Once everyone has a chance to rest, you will return to the kayaks for the last leg of the trip. The tour is expected to end at Michel Cove around 4pm.
