Climb Mount Fuji and admire the view from the summit on a 2-day tour from Tokyo!
The official climbing season for Mount Fuji, Japan’s highest and most iconic mountain, runs from July to mid-September. Accompanied by a professional mountain guide, you’ll ascend this sacred peak on a 2-day tour departing from Tokyo.
Day 1 – Departure from Tokyo – Climb to the 8th Station – Overnight in a mountain hut
Early in the morning, you’ll meet your guide and the rest of the group in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo before boarding a bus bound for Mount Fuji. Your first stop will be at a rental shop to collect your climbing gear (for participants who selected the equipment rental option).
You’ll be dropped off at the 5th Station, located halfway up the mountain, where your journey will begin on the Yoshida Trail. After several hours of hiking, you’ll take a short break at the 7th Station before continuing your ascent. Around 6:00 pm, you’ll reach the mountain hut at the 8th Station, where you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night.
Day 2 – Ascent to the Summit – Descent and Return to Tokyo
At dawn, you’ll begin the final leg of your climb toward the summit. You’ll pause at the 9th Station to witness a stunning sunrise, then continue on to reach the summit at around 6:00 am.
Shortly afterward, you’ll start your descent, stopping back at the mountain hut for a light breakfast. You’ll leave the hut around 8:00 am and make your way back down the trail to the 5th Station, arriving around 11:00 am.
Once you've had a chance to rest, you’ll board the bus back to Tokyo and will be dropped off in Shinjuku at approximately 3:00 pm.
