Jiufen Night Tour from Taipei

Explore Jiufen and its region on the outskirts of Taipei, and take advantage of the evening illuminations to see the city in a whole new light!

You'll meet your guide in Taipei in the early afternoon, and board a bus bound for Jiufen (or Chiufen), in the north of the city.

Your first stop is at the Shueinandong, or Golden Waterfall, named after the golden color of the water. The water's golden color is the result of a chemical reaction with sulfur, arsenic and copper from the mineral-rich soil.
Not far from the site, you can visit the Gold Museum. Gold mining was once an important part of the history of the north-eastern coast of Taiwan, making a significant contribution to the prosperity of Jiufen and the surrounding regions.

After visiting the museum, you'll be taken to the Baoshishan belvedere, where you'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the sea and mountains at sunset. Finally, you'll discover the village of Jiufen, one of the most picturesque in Taiwan. You'll visit its traditional old streets, illuminated at night by a multitude of red lanterns, which may remind you of the animated film Chihiro's Journey. Finally, you'll be taken to the ruins of 13 Levels, a former foundry dating back to the Japanese colonial period, which is illuminated every evening. You'll be taken back to Taipei, either to the departure point or to the Raohe night market if you wish to continue enjoying the evening!
