Set off on an excursion to the Dead Sea and the archaeological site of Masada!
Get picked up from your hotel and head to the Dead Sea. On the way you'll pass by the Good Samaritan Inn. You'll also make a stop at the point where you pass below sea level.
You'll take a cable car up to Massada, a 450-metre-high plateau. You'll enjoy the exceptional view of the Dead Sea and its surroundings. You'll explore the ruins of King Herod's palace fortress which was built between 37 and 31 AD. Numerous buildings were uncovered during the excavations, including guard posts, water tanks, shops and a public bath. You'll also admire the mosaics and wall paintings that have been preserved thanks to the dry climate. Massada is also a symbol of Jewish resistance to invading Romans.
You'll then head back to the Dead Sea. You'll stop at Ein Gedi, an oasis in the Judean desert with a magnificent waterfall.
You'll continue your excursion to Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls, the Bible's famous ancient texts, were found.
Your final stop will be on the shores of the Dead Sea. The beach and the salt-rich sea are perfect places to relax. You can also enjoy the natural benefits of the mineral-rich black mud.
You'll return to your hotel after a cultural day out with time to relax thrown in for good measure.
